My Services
Hello! My name is Allie Friedrichsen and I am an student ASL Interpreter. My sign language and interpreting journey started when my mother told me her experience about having to interpret for her aunt. My mom had only taken two ASL classes and the doctor requested someone in the family who knew ASL to tell my great aunt her frightening diagnosis. It was then I realized, it should not fall on the family to interpret for family. The responsibility should rest in the hands of a neutral third party, an interpreter. I am committed to professional development, continuing education, and lifelong learning. I strive to provide linguistical and cultural mediation and facilitation between hearing, Deaf, signing, and non-signing clientele.
Community
Rates and terms are dependent on the nature of the job.
Community interpreting involves day to day occurrences and events. The connection between people is something that I live for. I look forward to supporting these endeavors!
Performance/Platform
Rates and terms are dependent on the logistics of the job.
Performance interpreting such as musicals, shows, and concerts, require a different kind of preparation. The more time I have in advance to prep, the better!
